“Canadian dual citizens can travel freely to the U.S. despite Trump travel ban”, is what our Minister of immigration said, added to this the minister of security said that Canadian traveling in Canadian passport expected to be treated with respect, some believed our government and lived their life normally, travelling to the US as they do usual.
Fadwa Alaoui*, a Moroccan-born Canadian citizen and her family, are among those who believed the Canadian government, and left to US, but were denied entry because they are Muslims. Questioned if she is practicing her religion, if she goes to the mosque, what is the imam name, what he says in the ceremony, who replace him in his absence… and many questions?
Even, she was even asked about her point of view of Trump! A ‘president’ that most of his own people do not like nor respect, they searched her phone and found weapons of mass destruction, a video condemning Trump. Isn’t this everywhere in US media? It is ok they are not Muslims.
Yes, any country has the right to allow or deny entry to any foreigner, but asking a person about political view and religion practice and what the Imam at the mosque says, is at least humiliation.
For sure, we are Canadian, have the most respected citizenship and carry the most respected passport in the world, this might be correct, but not for those who are ‘Muslims’.
Would this action move our Prime Minister to defend his people, would this wake-up the Canadian government and understand that the respect of Canadian people is their number one duty?
The only way that this government could show respect for all people’s equality is not by speeches and tears but actions, the international rules of relation, ‘retaliation’.
Retaliation not against US citizen, not by asking ordinary citizen if they like Mr. Trudeau or not, or what their Minister or Imam preach, but against US high rank officials who take the decisions and who apply Trump administration discriminatory rules.
Do you think that we are going to believe our government empty words, no way, and some will remain chanting it is not discrimination, Trump is defending his country and we have to respect that.
Yes, Trump is correct, it is NOT discrimination! It is NOT against Muslims! Don’t worry we are naïve, and maybe waiting for the concentration camps to understand.
* At the time of publishing the article there were five Muslims-Canadian had been denied entry to US

What’s truly instructive about the sad state of affairs in Egypt isn’t Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s horrible but all-too-predictable behaviour as the dictatorial head of Egypt’s military junta. Rather, it’s the silence of the West that’s most revealing
