Statement from the Egyptian Revolutionary Council on the repeated incidents targeting innocent Christian Egyptians.

Since General Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi forcibly seized power in Egypt, innocent Egyptians of the Christian Coptic faith have been facing one calamity after another. Within the last few months they have been subjected to repeated attacks that have each claimed tens of innocent lives. Perhaps the most prominent of these recent incidents are:

Concern that Egyptian protests on the 11th of November will face regime violence

The authoritarian regime in Egypt is undertaking hugely risky economic measures that severely impact on the daily lives of millions of Egyptians. Economic experts estimate that 40% of the population will come under the poverty line after the floatation of the Egyptian pound.

Calls for demonstrations and civil disobedience have been steadily rising and in the next few days, on the 11th of November, street protests against these economic measures are expected.
